As most probably noticed, my time here on dA has been sporadic at best, with a combined total of maybe ONE hour over the last week or two.

Reason why?  It's summertime; sounds simple enough, and it is.  In the summertime my schedule with my two kids changes, moving from a regular continental schedule (which makes life easy to plan around) to a week at a time (I work one week, I'm off the next).  And as it happens, kids don't want to sit and do nothing in the house while I play on the computer, or get caught up on projects.  Thus, my time is limited, and will be limited for the remainder of the summer vacation.

Add in to that, that I've got 3 ongoing jobs (inking jobs), a project I'm trying to get off the ground (with renewed interest and ideas) and a new local art group I've was asked to join, things have been busy.  Oh, and throw into the mix, I created a group that really hasn't received the attention to it's birth it probably deserves.   But, this kinda thing happens; we're all human; we all have personal lives, we all have aspirations for things we wish to do or create.

At any rate, I continue to push on, whether sporadic in nature, or on a regular basis.  Here's what I've been up to:

1.)  I posted the Cover to the newest project I'm on; again, don't really know any specifics aside from the guy's dressed like a bobby, it's a steampunk-ish kinda setting and there's zombies.  The biggest pull to the project was getting to work with RONJOSEPH-ARTIST .  He's got a great gallery, a great style, and although a little time consuming for me, it's really cool getting to slap ink over his work.  :)  I've got the first 3 pages finished up (just need to scan them in) and the next 5 pages on my desk!  Stay tuned ;)

2.)  I continue to push out pages for my buddy Saltybird 's project "Aqueous."  Again, a little sporadic in nature, but I'll get them done.  Word is this project has been picked up by a publisher, and will see distribution through Diamond Comics Distributing in the near future.

3.)  I picked up a story with my buddy BenFerrari for his "Carriers" book; I don't remember exactly how many pages, but it's fun working over Ben again.  (Ben gave me my start as an inker, so BLAME HIM!!)  He's giving me some freedom to do what I like, so you can't argue with that.  I'll post some of that once I've got it completed.

4.)  If you haven't already, I HIGHLY recommend ALL artists to head over to LiamRSharp 's journal and get caught up on some highly information reading.  Liam sheds a lot of light on this fetish we call 'comic books' and how artists really need to grow beyond where we are today.  He's even gone so far as to allow the 'motion-book' function to be accessed by members of dA for free, allowing those that create books, to add a NEW element to their story telling methods.

5.)  I have plans to do some stuff with The-Inkwell , it just may take some time, so bare with me here.  Stick around to see what I can come up with! ;)

6.)  I don't recall having ever mentioning it here before, but I was asked by my good friend Vince (he drew the topless Zatanna pic) to join a local art group of his called "With Brush and Pen", to which of course, I said "sure!"  It's a small group consisting of 3 others besides myself, all with similar interests in producing art.  Vinnie has a couple deals going that he'll be penciling (with inks by myself) which, if liked, will lead to more work for us all.  It's been fun so far, and it's leading to myself producing some different things - I've started with some sketchcards - pencils, inks & colour by myself - as a way of slowly getting into this new 'me.'  As well, Vince has a piece for me to ink which is something I haven't done before, ink directly over the actual pencils.  I'm nervous and excited at the same time.  I'll post some of that when I can.
